The comps you assemble by hand, delivered in milliseconds.
Total-loss and DV work runs on realized comparable sales. Residual maintains a continuously updated corpus of hundreds of thousands of realized salvage auction outcomes and retrieves the comparables for any subject vehicle — with a market value estimate built from those exact comps.
What you get per lookup
- Comparable sold lots — year/make/model, damage, sale date, and realized sale price for the closest real sales, ranked by similarity to your subject vehicle.
- A market value estimate derived from those comps, with a price range once calibrated intervals ship, and the model version stamped on every response.
- Measured accuracy — our error rates are published and regenerated weekly against real held-out sales, segment by segment, so you can see the reliability of the exact vehicle class you're working.
Why this fits appraisal-clause work
You occupy the appraiser seat; software can't. What software can do is arm that seat: comps-and-adjustments is the language the dispute is conducted in, and a flat-fee appraisal practice lives or dies on how fast it can assemble defensible comps. That's the entire product. Residual sells data to appraisers — it does not compete for the appointment.
